Inzamam's Last Test Match(Videos)

Inzamam on his final test.
"I wouldn't say my career was zabardast
(extraordinary), but I am generally happy with it," said Inzamam with typical modesty. "I wanted to break the record but Javed bhai was a much better player than me. Even if I broke it, he has played a huge part in the runs I got."
"I wanted to play a memorable knock, I wanted to play aggressively because that could have won the match for Pakistan," he said. "It's difficult to describe my emotions when I walked in. There was a lot of pressure and though I've hit a number of deliveries like this for sixes, today in the battle of batsman and bowler, the bowler won.
"I am sad. I love this game and have been in it for so long. I've been thinking about my last five days, my last three days, my last hour so much. It's difficult to explain the emotions, but it's sad."

Inzamam 42* v West Indies(Video)

After Pakistan's bowlers had done their bit, restricting West Indies to only 151, their batsmen needed to back it up with a competent performance. Instead, they played loose cricket early on. The fact that Inzamam took 18 balls to get off the mark tells you just how tidily the West Indians were bowling. Pakistanwere really in trouble at 90 for 5. Pakistan's hopes then rested squarely on the broad shoulders of Inzamam, who had stood firm like a rock at his end, unmindful of a slow run rate. pushing the score to 116 when Brian Lara brought Collymore back into the attack and Razzaq feathered a nick to the keeper.Inzamam, who had waited and watched, playing out the frontline bowlers, pounced on Marlon Samuels, cutting and pulling him for successive boundaries. Then Samuels pulled it back, trapping Rana Naved-ul-Hasan in front of the stumps.Abdul Rehman nicked Bradshaw only for Ramdin to put down the catch. But West Indies did not give up, and soon after Ramdin made amends, catching Rehman off Taylor, picking up his fifth catch, with 5 still needed for victory. In the end, though, Inzamam, a picture of patience and fully composed even under pressure, paced his innings to perfection, and when he pulled Taylor away to the fence for the winning runs, the crowd erupted. Inzamam's unbeaten 42 was worth a whole lot more than some of his hundreds made in easier conditions.

Inzamam 138* vs Bangladesh(Video)

Bangladesh chooses to bat first and scored 281 in the 1st innings. Pakistan budled out for just 175 runs, Yasir Hameed top scored with 39. Bangladesh takes the lead of 106 runs.Pakistan then came back very strongly and bowled out Bangladesh for just 154 runs. Umar Gul and Shabbir Ahmad picking 4 wickets each so the target was 261.
Pakistan was staggering at one stage when the score was 5-99 but thanks to The masterclass of Inzamam-ul-Haq, who shepherded Pakistan to a one-wicket win over Bangladesh, received due acknowledgement at Multan, his home town. As a teary-eyed Inzamam made his way to the pavilion, unbeaten on 138 and having guided Pakistan to the target of 261, he was showered by rose petals and hugged by anybody who could get within range.
Inzamam's century - the 18th of his career - was a textbook exercise in pacing a chase in a Test. Few false strokes issued from his blade, and steep levels of concentration shrugged off his poor form. Finding the rope 20 times - and clearing it once - Inzamam farmed the strike to perfection, protecting the tailenders from bowling that was alternately on target and slipshod.

Inzamam 121* vs India(Video)

Another great knock by INZI against the arch rivals India.Pakistan batted first and Inzamam led the Pakistani run riot that produced 121 runs in the last 13 overs to take his side to the commanding heights of 272. Inzamam paced his innings to a nicety with his first fifty taking 71 balls and his second a mere 27 as he plundered the attack with the hit straight down the ground being repeatedly resorted to. Inzamam ul Haq was in supreme touch as he blazed away to his seventh ODI hundred off just 97 balls(with 7 fours and 5 sixes) and took the Indian attack to the cleaners in the course of an unbroken 151 run association for the fourth wicket with Muhammad Yousuf.
Pakistan then bowled out India for just 174 runs winning the match by 98 runs.Waqar Younis picked 5 for 31 and bagged the Man of the Match award with Inzamam.

Inzamam 118* vs Sri Lanka(Video)

Inzamam 118* vs Sri Lanka- Khaleej Times Trophy 2001
Target: 272
Inzamam came into bat when the score was 41-2 in the 10th over requiring another 232 runs and Naveed Latif was batting on the other end. Inzamam, keeping a cool head and transmitting his quietude to his younger partner, drove and cut delectably, seeming to plan the chase to meticulous perfection in his mind. Latif, in only his second match, notched up his first one-day international century in the 43rd over. Inzamam, not to be left behind, tramped majestically to his own hundred (with 10 fours and 2 sixes). Although, along the way, Latif fell, Inzamam saw his side safely past the total. Latif, predictably enough, bagged the Man of the Match award, but, as could be gauged from his acceptance speech, Inzamam played more than a small role in Latif's own innings.
